Turtle Walks & Hatchling Releases
Every year from May to July the rare opportunity to witness one of nature's most profound experiences takes place along Florida's coastline. The sea turtles emerge from their ocean home and slowly meander onto the shore to lay their eggs in the sand. For over 110 million years sea turtles have affably glided through the seas, making them one of the oldest species on earth. A two and half hour turtle walk discusses the history and current dangers these living fossils encounter in their natural habitat and the efforts being taken to protect these majestic creatures. In the weeks that follow as young hatchlings break free from their fragile shell, visitor's can also come to witness this remarkable experience.
