While you are visiting the great city of Miami, Fl make sure to allow time to eat at one of the most popular restaurants in the city. Azul is a restaurant that is diversified as the city it resides in is. Azul perfectly combines Mediterranean flavors with Asian influences in a elegant setting that truly complements its location.
Azul is located on a tiny island full of luxury condominiums and luxurious hotels just south of downtown Miami that overlooks the gentle waters of Biscayne Bay to the east and has an awesome view of the Miami skyline to the west.
The Hotel, Mandarin Oriental Miami is home to the Azul restaurant. The hotel has spared no expense to make sure that their guests have the best service and foods available. From their location within walking distance of downtown Miami (the financial center of South America), to the views of the skyline of Miami and the views from the beaches of Key Biscayne, your enjoyment of the hotel is paramount.
Azul even went and recruited one of the best chefs in the Miami area, Clay Conley. Clay was formerly the executive chef and culinary director of the famous Olives Restaurant. He has brought his own award winning blend of flavors and taste to the Azul.
The restaurant itself looks like a sculptured piece of artwork. The white marble open kitchen and raw bar are a sight to see. The ambiance of the restaurant takes full advantage of its location. With the peaceful white of the restaurant overlooking the Island of Key Biscayne and the Tall Bridge the leads to it and the calming effects of the waters of Biscayne Bay how could you have a stressful meal?
What makes the location so effective in part is the floor to ceiling windows that do not allow you to miss the view placed in front of you. Even if you were stressed out before entering the restaurant, there is no way that after your appetizer and first cocktail that you could be, the restaurant would not allow it.
Richard Hales is also a well known person in the restaurant world of Miami. He serves as the Sommelier for the Azul and has accumulated a wine cellar of over seven hundred of the best bottles of wine available for you. As the wine steward for the Azul he has brought the best selections of wine, from the classic vintage vines to the most current releases of wines. Richard has made sure that the wine that is right for you and your meal is available for you and is served at the temperature that it should be.
The dress code is business casual for lunch, coats and ties not required. And at dinner casual elegant is the dress for the evening, at no time is sportswear or shorts acceptable. Whether you are on vacation or on a business trip and are enjoying this type of restaurant we must remember that even the attire of the patrons affects the ambiance of the restaurant.
The Azul is open for lunch at noon to 3pm, Monday through Friday and dinner from 7pm through 11pm Monday through Saturday. The bar opens for service at 6pm daily before dinner.
