While you are in the Miami area, stop and visit the Calusa Country Club. It's located in the heart of the Kendall area in Miami, Florida. Set amid tree lined streets and well manicured lawns. The Calusa Country Club offers a peaceful setting to play your favorite eighteen holes.

The Calusa Country Club opened in 1968 offering 18 holes of links style golf. With tree lined fairways and enough water to test your skills Calusa still allows the novice player a chance. As a person who does not play golf much, I can tell you that if you play with a handicap or if you play the whole course with a putter and a three iron, you will still have a great day golfing. (The only club that I can make work is the three iron)

The course was designed by Mark Mahannah a well known architect for golf courses. Mark also designed other courses in the area including the Fontainebleau Golf course and the course at Jacaranda.

Starting with a well designed course that is maintained by professionals trained in the art of golf course grooming, The Calusa Country Club is dedicated to you enjoying your golf. They have enlisted the services of the golf instructor of the year 2001, Scott Jones to help you make golfing more enjoyable.

Learning the proper swing, right way to transfer your weight and the proper use of your hands will only make golf more enjoyable to you. You have a better time when things go good on the golf course than when you are fighting your clubs and your swing.

The Club offers a few different programs aimed at what you need to improve on. If your problem is with your short game then they will cater an instructional program to fit your needs. Whatever you need and however they can help the professional instructors are there to assist. They also have a full service Pro Shop staffed with knowledgeable golfers that can help you with whatever your need is. If the grip constantly causes you to miss putts they can help you fix it.

The Calusa Country Club offers its members a wide range of amenities to help their golf game improve. With two practice greens for putting, a large driving range (mats and grass), a short game practice field and a chipping green with practice bunkers all you will need is time to practice.

The Calusa Country Club also offers Ryder Cup Style Tournaments for its members and guest. With events like best ball, 9 holes; alternating shot, 9 holes; 9 holes scramble and a 9 holes singles match the play should be good.

You can also use the picturesque setting of the golf course and the elegance of Club House to host your wedding day or birthday party. The Club offers full service catering for receptions in their main Banquet Room and a Gazebo over looking the fairway that you can use for your wedding vows.

We can not forget to mention the 19th Hole. This is where the real golf game happens. It does not matter if you shot 8 over par or 40 over par, what matters is how you tell the story over a soothing cocktail and some chicken wings.

The Calusa Country Club offers the 19th Hole Grill Room for your dinning pleasure. They have a wide variety of dishes available as well as a full service bar to fill whatever need that you have.
